The mission of the Criminal Investigation Unit is to safeguard lives and property, curb criminal activity, maintain public order, and conduct thorough investigations that support the fair and lawful prosecution of offenders. CIU detectives may work within a variety of specialized teams, each with unique roles—serving high-risk warrants, conducting detailed crime-scene examinations, or supporting tactical operations alongside specialized response units. They may also carry out covert surveillance to gather critical intelligence, track and apprehend suspects involved in organized crime, or pursue complex cases such as financial fraud, narcotics distribution, and weapons trafficking.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit is dedicated to enforcing roadway laws throughout Los Santos to reduce traffic collisions and maintain smooth, consistent traffic flow. T.E.U. targets areas known for frequent crashes and high incidences of impaired driving, applying focused enforcement to improve public safety. Speed and efficiency are central to the unit’s operations, allowing officers to respond rapidly while still prioritizing community safety. The unit’s core objectives are to keep roadways moving safely, decrease D.U.I. occurrences, and provide swift response to high-priority vehicle pursuit situations.
